About Yair Golan

Yair Golan is a devoted public servant, who spent 38 years of his life defending Israel as a soldier in the IDF, rising to the rank of major general and assuming the role of Deputy Chief of Staff.

His actions on October 7th, 2023 highlighted General Golan's deep personal commitment to Israel and his willingness to sacrifice for Israel's safety and democratic principles, adding a significant chapter to his already distinguished career.

Today, he leads The Democrats Party in fighting for peace, security, progressive values, social justice, and the preservation of Israel's democratic character.

Who Can Donate to Israeli Political Parties?

Under Israeli election law (Party Financing Law, 1973), the following individuals are eligible to donate:

✓ Israeli Citizens with Voting Rights

Every Israeli citizen aged 18 and above who has the right to vote can donate to a political party of their choice.

Age: Must be 18 years or older
Citizenship: Must be an Israeli citizen
Voting Rights: Must have the legal right to vote in Israeli elections

Donation Limits

Annual Donation Limit per Individual

Israeli citizens can donate up to a maximum amount per calendar year to political parties. The limit is adjusted periodically and indexed to inflation. Individual donors can contribute several thousand shekels annually to each party.

Israeli Citizens Living Abroad

Israeli citizens living outside of Israel who maintain their citizenship and voting rights are eligible to donate to political parties in Israel, subject to the same limits as citizens residing in Israel.

Full Rights for Citizens Abroad

If you maintain your Israeli citizenship and voting rights, you can donate up to the permitted annual limit, regardless of your current country of residence.

Tax Information

Contributions to political parties in Israel are generally not tax-deductible. Donations are considered personal political expressions and do not qualify for tax benefits.
